How Can We Help?
In this tutorial, we will explain how to use Python string isspace() method with basic syntax by example for better understanding.
The String isspace() method returns True if all the characters of a string are whitespace; otherwise, it returns False.
Syntax:
<string_value/string_variable>.isspace()
Input Parameters:
- string_value / String variable : The string that we want to check whether it’s a whitespace or not.
Python Check String is whitespace
We can check the string value it’s white space or not by simply using the isspace() method. It means the string value contains only whitespace.
Example (1)
#Print the result of isspace() method
em_str=' '
print ('String variable is a empty string:', em_str.isspace())
Output of example (1)
String variable is a empty string: True
In the above example, the string variable ’em_str’ includes the only whitespace, so when we checked the whitespace characters of it by em_str.isspace() in the print statement, it shows the result as True.
Example (2)
#Print the result of isspace() method
msg='Welcome Oraask'
print ('String variable is whitespace string:',msg.isspace())
Output of example (2)
String variable is whitespace string: False
In the above example, the string variable ‘msg’ includes whitespace with alphabets. However, when we checked the whitespace characters of it by msg.isspace() in the print statement, it shows False.
